Word of the Week

This week my word is ...

This week I've been thinking about the election and how I was going to vote. For many years I voted for a party rather than a candidate. I had very strong views as to which party best represented my views and was less bothered about who the actual person was that was standing. Over the last two elections however I have looked more closely at the person who was standing and given my vote to the person that I thought would best represent me in parliament. This has meant voting for a party that I never thought I would support because I was most convinced by their candidate.

And now it's all over for another five years and I can stop thinking about manifestos, candidates policies, local versus national issues etc etc. Time for a cup of tea and a lie down!

  1. A very topical word and one that's provoking strong opinions all over social media this morning. I'm a voter and always have been, but don't feel the need to share who I vote for or admonish those with views that are different to mine, which I've found a bit odd really. But more odd is the people that just don't bother to use their vote at all, something I'm not sure I'll ever understand. #wotw

    1. Thanks fro commenting Stephanie. I'm a passionate believer in voting. It's an important right and we must never forget that there are many people in the world who don't have it.

  4. Ah yes, so much time and thought given to this one this week. Interestingly I had a conversation with a friend this morning about voting locally and for the person over the party and leader, too. All over now! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  5. Yes I know exactly what you mean, although we should be voting for the party rather than the person running the party I questioned which leader I would prefer running the country I live in and I know who I didn't want it to be!
